Biography

Storm Stacey is one of British motorcycle racing’s most exciting and popular young riders, competing under the number 79 in the British Superbike Championship.

Storm began racing at a young age and progressed rapidly through the junior categories. After developing his skills in minibike racing, he moved into the British Talent Cup and British Moto3 Championship, finishing third in the Moto3 standings in both 2017 and 2018.

He then stepped up to the Pirelli National Junior Superstock Championship, where his speed and determination continued to attract attention. Despite having limited experience on larger machinery, Storm quickly established himself as a regular podium contender.

In 2020, Storm made the major step into the British Superbike Championship with GR Motorsport. The delayed start to that season meant he narrowly missed becoming the youngest rider ever to make a British Superbike debut.

Over the following seasons, Storm continued to develop his pace, consistency and understanding of Superbike machinery. His hard work was rewarded at Snetterton in 2024, where he claimed his first British Superbike race victory and established himself as a genuine front-running contender.

For the 2025 season, Storm joined Michael Rutter’s newly formed Bathams AJN Racing British Superbike team. Riding the BMW M 1000 RR, he regularly challenged towards the front of the field, securing ten top-five finishes and a further eighteen top-ten results. Storm completed the season tenth in the riders’ championship, finishing as the highest-placed BMW rider.

Storm remained with Bathams AJN Racing for 2026 as the team switched to the latest Ducati Panigale V4 R. The partnership represents an exciting new chapter as Storm and the team aim to build upon the progress made during their successful first season together.

The 2026 season also saw Storm make a spectacular debut at the North West 200. Racing on the famous 8.9-mile road circuit for the first time, he claimed victory in both the Superstock and feature Superbike races.

Storm’s Superstock victory included a new class lap record at an average speed of 124.498 mph, making him the first newcomer to win at the North West 200 since 2007. His performances immediately established him as one of the event’s standout riders and added two major international road-racing victories to his achievements.
